Post Re: white witches
I don't know too much about witches, but my friend from middle school who was an actress told me that she was a witch one day. I laughed about it, and she cried, she got extremely upset that I didn't really believe her. She never proved it to me that she was a witch. I think it'd be cool to meet a witch who can actually prove they are one. I haven't talked to my friend who says she is a witch in a very long time.

Well, think of it this way: If you told someone that you were a christian, would you think you should have to prove it? Being a witch is so much more than practicing magick. It's a lifestyle, a belief, a religion.

so how did you know that you were a witch then? is it something that you decide to be and follow or is it something that you are born as? or are brought up as?

I have always felt that it is something you decide to develop within yourself, based on the way you see, and feel, the world around you.

There are those who like to claim they are "hereditary witches". I think that is total bunk. Anyone alive now has an ancestor who used herbs and other natural substances, and energies, to continue the family line. Current day scientists and doctors would have all been called witches in another time.

We all inherit the abilities to work with the substances and energies around us, but it is "trained out" before we can see the world for ourselves. Those of us that cannot be "tamed", tend to develop lives centered around this birthright.

I call myself a hereditary witch, let me explain, my entire family, going back hundreds of years, have all been witches, have all practiced, have all had something to do with the occult. Not one of them broke the "chain" so to speak, so i am following in that line, a very very long line of witches. Thats why i feel that my belief or gift whatever you like to call it is hereditary.
