 Space junk storm will up mission costs: expertsLONDON, Nov. 4, 2009 (Reuters) — A growing storm of debris flying around in space is dramatically increasing the risk of orbital crashes, and steps to avoid them will add greatly to the costs of future space flight, British space experts say.

Re: Space junk storm will up mission costs: experts Well wow. That's incredible yet depressing at the same time. To think that a small marble that seems so innocent on Earth can be the so destructive just outside of our atmosphere. If you've seen the movie Wall-E, the scene where the ship is leaving Earth, the Earth´s orbit is completely covered in metal objects like that. I'm pretty sure that unless we do something to stop it, our atmosphere will end up like that.
