I completely understand the husband. I wouldn't want a bunch of strangers in my house for who knows how long, "investigating." Then some of them set up cameras all over the house... I would just feel like my privacy was being invaded.

Besides, half the time all activity stops when they show up.

why does it stop when investigators are around but goes on when the normal people living there are there?

I honestly don't know. I used to work with a guy that conducted paranormal investigations. I helped him go over the collected evidence a few times. He always said that he thought ghosts were scared of him because often when he and his team went to people's houses, everything stopped.

Maybe regular ghosts just get uncomfortable around strangers?

Weird, but if you think about it, it DOES make a little sense. If the ghost was shy in life, why should that change in death?

Yes exactly, peoples' characteristics stay the same after they've passed on.

Sometimes the personalities don't change and I've read of other instances, esp. if they died a painful death, it might be the total opposite when they come back. Just an "old superstition", one of the many, I have grown-up hearing from relatives. None were especially well educated but had some "gifts" they said my g-father had passed on to me. As for "unusual encounters", around here, that seems to sum up my 24/7 lifestyle between remodeling the old family home to living at my other home. All Winter, someone" has been helpful enough to remove my carkeys from my key rack in the kitchen, gone to the carport, and warmed up my car for me. it usually takes place about 10 minutes before I get ready to leav aand "it" ws smart enough to open the garagedoor to let out the exhaust fumes from the running car. Lots of odd stuff, I might think of writing a book; under Fiction or Supernatural

My whole life.... well for as long as I can remember, I have been around the paranormal a lot more than the average person i guess. I have seen full body apparitions I have seen the glowing or mist of s spirit if indeed thats what it was. I have had two houses that I lived that would be considered haunted.

The house I live in now had something in it for about 3months. I kept hearing this loud scratching noise from my kitchen as if it was on the wall or floor. Freaked us a bit, however, the freakyness really got large later on. We went to FLA to my parents house for Chritmas. The discusion of ghost came up and we weren't into the conversation 10 minuets and all of a sudden we start hearing the same scratching noise in my parents kitching. My Dad the "awesome debunker" that he is start giving explanations. However, his debunking failed.

We later left and stopped by in GA to stay at my sisters house before we went back home. We were telling them about everything that went on. I went outside to the family van and opend the door. I leaned in to get a smoke and when I did the loudest scracthing noise hapeened right in front of my face on the dashboard of the van.

That freaked my freak so bad That it brought tears to my eyes. We got back home prayed for it to leave and it never happened again. True Story

Mice? They have been known to make nests in car bodies and engines.

Of course it could be mice, but that's just a bit odd it would follow them wherever they go. Also, I don't think that mice would abruptly stop their scratching if one prayed hard enough. However, it's rare to hear that praying actually helps paranormal mishaps. Kudos to you!
