FindingTruth, my Aunt is BIG into astrology and she has explained to me, along with my doing my own research, that the reason why some people dont always match their description or why when you read a general horoscope and it seems to have nothing to do with you, is because each person not only has a SUN sign or a Zodiac sign but also several others that make up the individual. Two big ones are the Moon and Rising sign. The Sun sign explains your personality, how you think. Your Moon sign explains your heart. It is how you feel and relate to others emotionally. Your Rising sign is how you appear to be to everyone else. For example someone who is a Scorpio, so say born November 1, was born at 9:00 PM at night. The moon and (Im not sure which planet is in charge of the rising sign so lets just say Jupiter for fun) were in a certain position in the sky at that time....so say the moon was in Libra and Jupiter was in Pisces. This means that, even though they are a Scorpio, to everyone else they appear to be a Pisces and they love like they were a Libra. To find out your Moon and Rising all you need to know is your birth time.

It can be helpful to read several other horoscopes in order to get a bigger picture for yourself.

I had wondered why no one in this thread brought up the moon sign and rising sign. I found that when those two and my sun sign were included, they almost perfectly described me. The astrologist was even able to tell me a few rather specific things about myself that I thought no one else knew.

Though I still don't really read horoscopes much. I find most of them to be ambiguously written and often by people just trying to make some money.

Agreed. It is hard these days to find truth in horoscopes without having to pay for it. If you learn to read your birth chart, however, it makes astrology a bit easier. Especially when relating with other persons.

Don't get me wrong, there are complexities within astrology which is why not every person is an astrologer...and for those who are good and honest, many times its just paying for their time because they have made a career out of knowing astrology. Sadly, some people in the field are scam artists
